Lucky Number Thirteen

Thirteen years ago today, I made the best decision of my life.

Thirteen years ago I said, “I do.”

Thirteen years of love, of excitement, of joy and adventures. Thirteen years peppered with pain, heartache, trials and errors.

Life is an incredible journey, but I know it wouldn’t be nearly so extraordinary if I didn’t have such an amazing husband to share it with.

Thirteen years together. Wow.

To you, my Todd, my husband, my love, my life. To you… How could I ever put into words what you mean to me?

Your strength is my strength. You’ve held me up through my weakest moments, together we’ve weathered the worst of storms. Your joy is my joy, it’s contagious. Your passion, your drive, your goals in life… You make me want to live fuller, dig deeper, dream bigger, try harder and do better, in all things.

Your love…

Your love is patient. Your love is kind. Your love isn’t proud, or self-seeking. Your love isn’t easily angered… Your love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Your love has never failed me.

I love you, Todd. Thank you for giving me the best life, better than anything my imagination could’ve ever conjured, better than anything I deserve. Thank you for loving me, despite my failures. Thank you for laughing at my pun-filled jokes, and enduring my sarcasm. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for your grace, for your patience, for your laughter and your tears. Thank you for taking this journey through life with me. These past thirteen years have been spectacular and I can’t wait to see what the next thirteen deliver for us.

Thank you for saying, “I do.”

Today, as I did thirteen years ago, I pledge my love to you.

You and me.

I am such a lucky girl. I love you, Todd!
